I've had this issue for sometime. I want to use my phone as a hotspot at my caravan on 2 TVs. My phone connects successfully. My husband has gifted me data so I have plenty of data. If I change the APN sometimes it'll work for a short period then stop, mostly it doesn't work at all. I thought there may be some sort of limit on my number but EE said there isn't. They did give me a new SIM which worked briefly and I was back to the same situation.
I can still browse internet on my phone.
Has anyone got any idea why it won't work?
Thanks!

@Mashed Why are you changing the APN settings? Once set correctly you don’t need to change it again as It’s one time setup.

A post regarding this issue advised to create a new APN, which worked for a while and I could connect and watch Netflix for a little while. Ultimately it disconnects and goes back to being connected with no internet. Being able to watch briefly led me to think there was some sort of data cap, however EE have said there isn't. I have no idea why creating a new APN works even for a short time.

@Chris_B Further info, I restored the APN, managed to watch about an hour and a half of Netflix before it stopped working and was back to "connected, no internet". Restored APN again and tried to connect, connected but no internet. I renamed the Hotspot and changed the password and am now connected again and working although I'll probably only get a wee while before it goes again.
Any help much appreciated.

Hi @Mashed
Thanks for coming to the community about this.
I hope you're well and having a nice day, are you up to much?
I know how important it is to have your entertainment set up when at the caravan, my mam spends a load of time doing the same.
Can I just check what make and model phone you're using to hotspot?
Thanks
Chris

Hi all good thanks. My phone is an oppo Rx 17 neo. It has always been like this. I've only discovered the bizarre workaround of resetting the APN, changing the name and password of the APN, restarting phone and TV then it connects and works for a while. I have to do the same for the bedroom TV (one is a Toshiba and the other is a Bush).
It's fine when my husband is here as we just use his phone.
