GB News App crashing

Having real problems watching GB News…

all the other apps work fine, Netflix, Prime, I don’t have an issue with any of them, except GB News, after about 10 minutes it freezes and the only way to sort the problem out is to exit out of the app and then start it again, it doesn’t seem to be buffering as it never sorts itself out, it always requires my intervention to exit out and start again.

I’m not interested in any other news channel so that’s not a solution, anyone know how this can be fixed?

Unfortunately the aerial lead doesn't work. I got "weak or no signal". I
expect I haven't actually got an aerial. I think the previous homeowner had
a Sky satellite dish. I previously had Virgin fibre.

I’ve resolved my issue with GB News, I found a Roku stick that I purchased for a previous address, you can add apps onto it including Disney+ and Netflix etc.. GB News works absolutely fine on it so the issue is with EE and up to them to resolve, nothing more I can do…

I thought that was illegal.

No not at all, it’s just a streaming device, I’ve got a Roku Express which you can pick up for about £29.99 and all you do is plug it in to your TV via a HDMI cable, choose which apps you want such as Amazon Prime, GB News, Now TV, Netflix etc, then log in and away you go…. it’s actually much faster than EE TV and easier to use, I’m regretting signing up with EE, wish I’d just got the Roku stick by itself now.

I remember hearing a programme on Talk Sport radio about these "fire
sticks" and they are illegal. People were buying them to watch football
that is not on UK television. Definitely illegal.

100% not illegal, trust me, do you think you’d be able to buy them in Curry’s or from Amazon if they were illegal?

What’s illegal is when people have them chipped to receive channels that they haven’t paid for, It’s a streaming device that connects to your TV.

You can’t chip a Sky box or an EE top box but there are some firesticks that you can chip, but you need someone specific to do that for you, you can’t buy chipped firesticks at the shop.

The radio programmes did not make that clear. I suppose they were trying to
scare people although loads of people were phoning up admitting they used
these fire sticks because they "couldn't afford to pay for Netflix etc"

Yeh it’s a regular thing when people are discussing illegal streaming, they just refer to them as ‘firesticks’ when in actual fact it’s a ‘chipped firestick’…

there’s a lot of people that do it so it’s something the big companies absolutely hate.

I am having the same problem with the GB News App via EE too.  It won't play live TV.  It will play catch up etc. but the point of a news channel is to be able to watch it live.  When I go to watch it live, I just get the spinning wheel of death.  I am not having this problem with any other apps via EE or services....I have tried everything on here except the PPNEs, which don't seem to make a difference according to most people.

Anyone found a fix for this yet? I can use the app on my LG TV no issues, but using via EE TV apps it freezes after 30 seconds. Doubt it's a connection issue or the LG app wouldn't work.

Frustrating, Sky & BBC News are pointless these days so hoped a few may have been found.
