GB News App crashing

Having real problems watching GB News…

all the other apps work fine, Netflix, Prime, I don’t have an issue with any of them, except GB News, after about 10 minutes it freezes and the only way to sort the problem out is to exit out of the app and then start it again, it doesn’t seem to be buffering as it never sorts itself out, it always requires my intervention to exit out and start again.

I’m not interested in any other news channel so that’s not a solution, anyone know how this can be fixed?

Hey there @Cefn.

Is it just GB News that you're noticing this happening with, or have you noticed issues with other apps too?

Can you please describe exactly what happens when this freezes too?

Peter

GB News , youtube, iplayer

Plays ok for 10 mins or so than freezes, the remote works ok so you have to go back to the menu select the app and all is ok for another 10 mins or so

Hope this helps

@Cefn

Touch the On/Standby button on the front of the box for just over 8 seconds until it soft reboots.

Thanks for you help, Done that and a full power off, and full reinstall  app update and system update still the same?

I’ve exactly the same setup, I complained and they sent me out the ‘Passthrough Powerline Network Extenders’ which essentially makes the TV Box Pro hardwired in to the broadband via the electrical wiring… it didn’t make a difference.

I even said that it wasn’t buffering, it was crashing, so why they thought hardwiring would make a difference I don’t know.

I’ve spoke to a few agents at EE about this and they’re absolutely clueless about what it is.

Yep know what you mean, using a "firestick" at the moment with "apps" no problems, wondering why im paying for ee tv

It’s just the GB News app, I use Netflix and Prime with zero issues.

Basically, when I start watching, within 10 minutes the screen freezes, it’s not buffering, it’s crashed as the only way to sort it out is to exit out of the app and then go back in.

I spoke to EE and they sent me out some  ‘Passthrough Powerline Network Extenders’ which was odd as I said it wasn’t a signal strength issue, I hooked them up anyway and it made no difference.
