I live in the UK, I’m on holiday in Greece and when I go to make a call on my iPhone 13 my 5G disappears and I can’t connect a call?  Any help I’d  be grateful

So, I go away on Friday. If I activate roaming pass tomorrow (Thursday) and end it right away, I will get a month of EU roaming and will cost no more that £25, regardless if I`m split between 2 billing periods? Am I understanding that correctly?
