Strange PS5 Pro download issue - EE 900 Core

Hello a strange one indeed,
I'm on EE's 900 core full fibre, using the Smart Hub 7 Plus SH35A with the latest firmware (confirmed by a quick Google search).

The speeds and pings are fine (confirmed on other devices and on my PS5 Pro via the connection test and in-game ping meters) yet downloading is impossible due to the fact it's stating it'll take hours to finish downloading. Earlier this week my PS5 Pro was working fine, my Series X and Switch 2 currently work even with this weird issue happening right now.

I use ethernet on all of my consoles and I even swapped the ethernet cable between my Series X and PS5 to rule out a router and/or ethernet cable problem yet the problem remains. Switching to wireless resulted in the exact same problem on my PS5 Pro - there was no difference. I even did a factory reset of my PS5 Pro which allowed me to download one game at normal speed before it slowed to an absolute crawl afterwards when the next queued item (only a 15gb DLC) resulted in the same lengthy time period.

I can only assume and make an uneducated guess that it's an issue between EE and PlayStation specifically - as my Series X and Switch 2 are downloading games perfectly fine without any problems at all.

Very curious, can anyone else replicate this with their own PS5 (Pro or regular)?

Thanks in advance.

On the website now I put the wrong password in 🤦🏻‍♂️ the website is glitching out all over the place it constantly tells me something went wrong. Then takes me to a screen where my internet says it’s disabled it isn’t then the page goes blank again.

@ReadyUpEm Use another device if you can to admin the EE Hub you have, was another posting last week, and getting past the password issue with also instability just did not work, OP is now connected and using a BT Smarthub2 back on the connection having got rid off the EE hub and although waiting on the good news do not expect any issues have popped up from under the radar. Copy heads up for @Pervs2

Get to the hub manager do the https://192.168.1.254 just incase security is upsetting your device.

Type into browser bar, follow the link and ignore warnings. Password should
be unique to the hub unless you've changed it. The password for router
admin is different to your WiFi password (just in case you're trying that,
it's not uncommon)

@Residentsteven : What website? Do you mean the router? Your online EE a/c website is not the same as the router's admin console, which is what @Demskills  uses for his fix.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP
On the back of bottom of the router you'll find that code and the admin
password. There's no website you just type that code in the web address bar
and from it you access your router settings. Sometimes people try using
their WiFi password, but you need the admin password from the sticker to
get to those settings.

Thank you I finally managed to get this fixed using my old laptop the website actually works on there unlike the iPad/iPhone now my speeds are where they should have been 👍🏻.

I'm glad the majority of people are finding a solution to the problem. I
wish it had worked for me but in all honesty I'm quite happy knowing I've
no worries with the BT hub until I want to go above a gigabit. Hopefully EE
will have addressed the issue by then or most likely a more suitable hub
will be available

@ReadyUpEm There has been a lot off recent FW updates to the whole range off EE Hubs, just need to find out if the PS5 download issue is disappearing or still there now?
