Hello a strange one indeed,
I'm on EE's 900 core full fibre, using the Smart Hub 7 Plus SH35A with the latest firmware (confirmed by a quick Google search).
The speeds and pings are fine (confirmed on other devices and on my PS5 Pro via the connection test and in-game ping meters) yet downloading is impossible due to the fact it's stating it'll take hours to finish downloading. Earlier this week my PS5 Pro was working fine, my Series X and Switch 2 currently work even with this weird issue happening right now.
I use ethernet on all of my consoles and I even swapped the ethernet cable between my Series X and PS5 to rule out a router and/or ethernet cable problem yet the problem remains. Switching to wireless resulted in the exact same problem on my PS5 Pro - there was no difference. I even did a factory reset of my PS5 Pro which allowed me to download one game at normal speed before it slowed to an absolute crawl afterwards when the next queued item (only a 15gb DLC) resulted in the same lengthy time period.
I can only assume and make an uneducated guess that it's an issue between EE and PlayStation specifically - as my Series X and Switch 2 are downloading games perfectly fine without any problems at all.
Very curious, can anyone else replicate this with their own PS5 (Pro or regular)?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply.
Having spoken before over the years to “EE technical support” over the phone (emphasis on “ “) and finding them to not really be technical support just sales staff with absolutely zero training on technical issues, coupled with the fact nobody had even heard of the 7 Plus router last time I called up about it, I will pass on calling them up about this PS5 issue. I doubt the person I speak to would even have heard of a PS5 or understand the concept of downloading a PS5 game, it’d just be a frustrating phone call for both of us, so I won’t bother. My 7 Plus router is not plugged in anyway, no point, like I said I’ve gone back to the 6 Plus.
My roadmap going forward is to simply leave EE as soon as is financially viable to do so once a certain competitor is installed in my street. I simply cannot get over the fact a router was shipped which is incompatible with a PS5. Simply astonishing, and my trust is now broken beyond repair with the company.

@Profile closed - when you say you have the "exact same problem", how exactly do you have things connected/what does your network setup look like?
I don't think anybody is accusing you of connecting anything the 'wrong way', but this information sometimes helps folk replicate things which can help in getting EE to take notice (assuming it is a problem with the hub, of course).
e.g. are you wired/wireless? what is the connection speed as seen by the Playstation? If wired, are you connected to a 2.5Gbps port on the router or a 1Gbps port? If wireless, have you tried the Compatible WiFi network etc?
It's the answers to this sort of thing that might help narrow the problem.

I've been seeing the exact same issue with my PS5. It has driven me up the wall! However, I'm pretty certain I've sorted it. I have Smart Hub 7 with 900Mbps. Downloads were estimated to take 24 hours for 100Gb game. Download kept starting and stopping. For future people who encounter this problem, this is what I tried:
I hope this helps if you are having this issue! GGs lads!
