Hello a strange one indeed,
I'm on EE's 900 core full fibre, using the Smart Hub 7 Plus SH35A with the latest firmware (confirmed by a quick Google search).
The speeds and pings are fine (confirmed on other devices and on my PS5 Pro via the connection test and in-game ping meters) yet downloading is impossible due to the fact it's stating it'll take hours to finish downloading. Earlier this week my PS5 Pro was working fine, my Series X and Switch 2 currently work even with this weird issue happening right now.
I use ethernet on all of my consoles and I even swapped the ethernet cable between my Series X and PS5 to rule out a router and/or ethernet cable problem yet the problem remains. Switching to wireless resulted in the exact same problem on my PS5 Pro - there was no difference. I even did a factory reset of my PS5 Pro which allowed me to download one game at normal speed before it slowed to an absolute crawl afterwards when the next queued item (only a 15gb DLC) resulted in the same lengthy time period.
I can only assume and make an uneducated guess that it's an issue between EE and PlayStation specifically - as my Series X and Switch 2 are downloading games perfectly fine without any problems at all.
Very curious, can anyone else replicate this with their own PS5 (Pro or regular)?
Thanks in advance.

@Demskills Not another one! Why don't you call EE CS and report what you have done.

I don’t know if anyone can help I recently upgraded my ee fibre boardband it’s now at download 900 mbps and 110 mbps upload. But my PlayStation 5 and Xbox series X are now struggling to download anything over 20gb if I want to download a 60gb game it’s saying over 5/6 hours 🤯 before Christmas last year when it was installed it was like 20 minutes I have checked the settings and was told 2.4 is slow changed it to 5 and it’s no different before it was set to auto and I switched it back to check and no different 🤷🏻♂️. Honestly it’s driving me mad that both now struggle with higher speeds which I do receive I have speed checked it and Ethernet is not an option has anyone any ideas because honestly I’m so fed up now I even deleted the router on the ps5 and put the password in again and it’s still slow 😭.

Hi mate , you need to follow the below steps. If you’re unsure about how to do it ask.
it’s a stupid thing you have to do and EE need to fix it. Once you do this you’ll hit the download speeds you expect. Takes 5 mins to fix
What fixed it for me: I went into the router admin page in a web browser -> advanced settings -> IPv6 -> Configuration -> Allocation mode -> OFF

I was trying this the other day but was having trouble logging onto the correct site do you know the ee website you used because even when I managed to log in it says my password is incorrect it isn’t. Then I try the app and that struggling to connect now even though my boardband is working.

@Residentsteven : It's not a website; it's your router. Login to your EE Smart Hub/Router at http://192.168.1.254 with the admin password on the bottom of the slider label on the back of the router.
