Released: Smart Hub Pro

Hi all

After some shop maintenance, the broadband page now confirms the Smart Hub Pro is now available!

Included by default with the 1.6gbps tiers and a £10 per month extra for any < 900mbps tiers (which I think is a great price for the spec on paper compared to other third party wifi 7 hardware, definitely adds value to the higher tiers).

It’s available to order now, and I hope that the extra can be added for existing customers, will have to see what CS say in the morning 😀

Slight typo on the images, l as I’m assuming powered by wifi 7 means the hub pro is included rather than the plus.

It looks like the £10 “Smart Hub Pro and Smart WiFi Pro” extra is for both the hub and booster, replacing the existing £7 extra for Smart WiFi Plus (as you cannot add both extras to the same basket). This represents fantastic value if you’re effectively paying £3 to upgrade to WiFi 7 from the existing setup (if you’re already paying £7).

SUCCESS!! 🚀

Just called back and spoke again to broadband sales / retentions (at BT) and they’ve ordered me the new WiFi 7 hub and booster for £10 per month extra (existing 900mbps essentials plan) - it’s brand new so he apologised for the previous advisor and got it sorted but said “not to defend him, but it’s brand new so might have looked in the wrong place”.

Delivery expected: 19/09 (Thursday)

I am 1.6gb fibre customer who do I call to get the new pro router  ?

Not a good start, on the phone and the extra is NOT available to me. The customer service seemed different and no text validation for security initially. Turns out I’m through to a BT call centre as they “provide the broadband”.

Just been spoken to like a POS and refused to get a team leader for 15 mins! Not the EE service that I’ve had in the past at all. Absolutely fuming I pay so much across BB and mobile to be spoken to like that 😮

Just been on the phone and unless you are a Brand new customer so order today !   You cant get the new Pro Router !!! its only for Brand new customers and you can't even buy it LOL !  What a mess !

Do EE & BT not discuss these things!    It's pretty obvious anyone on 1.6gb package is going to want the new faster lan ports **bleep** !

Anyway rant over I will order new TP Link router now instead so I get my speeds I'm paying for !

Be interesting to see how they handle existing customers who already have the Smart WiFi add-on. Would this new add on replace the old add on because else you’d effectively be paying for two Smart WiFi packages when you can only have 1 in the first place. Hmmmm

Also confirmed the new kit has a 14 day cooling off period from 19/09 so got two weeks to make sure I’m happy being committing for the 24 month period.

You need to phone up again and get a different advisor. Them saying you can’t get it unless you’re a new customer is fake news. It’s the easy way of telling you I don’t know how to do that nor do I know where to look😉

You say you are on 900mbps, what broadband add ons did you have if any? I want to see what happens if you’re already on a smart WiFi plan and try and get the new router.
