Worrying Scam

racquel75
Visitor

Received a call from 07502 354235, number came up as a likely nuisance.

Caller claimed to be from EE, female with strong Indian accent, wanted me to confirm my details as she had special offers.  I was suspicious so said I would not be providing any information as I couldn't validate her.   Worrying is she said she could send me a text message that only EE do, few seconds later I got a text message from EE, or certainly what looks like EE with a 6 digit pin.   she offered a discounted iPhone (I'm android) then offered a discount on my sim plan I just needed to confirm some details...

I never sign up to things without going back to primary source, EE chat confirmed they have no better offers than I'm on (as expected)

The Text is a scary feature, these scammers are going to get some EE customers.
