EE Broadband APP WifI Controls not working

Mart30
Explorer

I have recently signed up to EE Broadband.   My broadband is working fine, however the APP WiFi controls feature and the Wifi enhancer are not available on the app or via the website.   An error message appears and states it is a problem with EE.  I  have spoken with the technical team at EE on two occasions and they have recommended i reinstall the APP and restart the router.  I have now done this many times and the APP features are still not working.   This is very very VERY frustrating!    I am going in circles with the EE technical team and it is not clear how or if this will be resolved.  EE is not living up to expectations.  If there is an issue, i would prefer EE acknowledge the fault and advise when it will be fixed rather than directing me to do the same thing over and over again (i.e reinstall the app).   Can anybody help?   Is this new feature just a myth?

Yeah I got iOS and the latest app but I have a feeling that my issue is to do with merging the accounts more then the actual firmware and app but I have a call in 2 hours so we shall see what they say 😂

Hi,
I have an Android phone (Samsung S23 Ultra) and the EE App says it is
Version 5.33.0.
How can you tell what Software Version your hub is running if you can't get
WiFi Control to work??

You can access the basic UI through browser by going to http://192.168.1.254 then advanced settings and technical log - it will ask for hub password that is on the back of the hub on the little removable card.

@ALL

Hey all, I thought all these threads had been joined together 😂 so reposting where I can.

The smart hubs are updating themselves over the next month or two as of the  28th of last month.

Check if your hub has updated to the newest software 1.13.1. To check this open a web/safari page and type in 192.168.1.254, select status, 3rd one down it will say app version.. newest update is 1.13.1 I believe. The update will activate itself not resetting your hub etc unless EE call you and tell you to reset it. for instance mine updated between 0256-0330hrs(am) on its own.

IOS users then go to the app store and download the new app update.
To check if your already on the new app update, click on the EE app and then select the outline of a person at the top right of the screen, in there right at the bottom will show the latest app version… 5.34.0 (715780).

For most IOS users, like myself, these 2 updates should now get your WiFi controls to work 👌mine are now working after these two updates.

For android users you can check your Hub software as above and check your relevant app stores to see if the update is now available, to my belief, as state via a text message I received from

To my knowledge there is a delay for android users due to the software not working properly, so you may still be on 5.33.0 for a little longer while they try to get it all to work properly before they release it. I will send the copied text I received after this post to explain for android users.

Hope this explains a bit better for some or all 👌ps I don’t work for EE lol I just helped along with some others with TMC to help get fixes for all 👌

IF I get anymore updates I will let you all know but there are a few threads with this issue so I may miss messaging here.

Read last few pages here:

https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Broadband-Landline/EE-Broadband-APP-WifI-Controls-not-working/td-p/133...

Also, just because the app is not working, you can still access your hub controls and options etc.

Use a computer and enter your hubs ip address into your web browser, then you should have access to the basic setup controls, for advanced options you simply login with your admin password.

I do not subscribe, so please do not always expect a reply.

We have the same issue all the blocks on the hub manager are greyed out and supposed to be purple! Can't even set wifi access times!
