Former EE Community Manager

Hello and welcome to the EE Community!

I’m Ed, your new Community Manager, and I’m delighted to have you here in the forums.

I want the EE Community pages to be an invaluable part of being an EE customer. Our primary concern is to provide a forum where customers can find the solutions they need and I hope the answers to your questions are here. We're lucky enough to have a lot of great insights from some very smart people in the community and we're growing every day.

Whether you have a pressing question, want to discuss the latest talking point, or have an interesting idea you want to share with other members - this is your chance to chat with likeminded people and find the right solutions to any problems. I hope you'll find the forum a lively and welcoming environment. If you're a technical expert, I'm delighted to have you here. Could you be our next 'esteemed' contributor?

I'll be here to make sure everything runs smoothly and provide updates from the network along with the occasional talking point. I hope I can help and I look forward to hearing from you. We also have a smattering of EE support staff active in the forums along with some extremely clued up community members. But it's worth remembering that the forum is just one way of getting in touch with EE. You can find a list of ways to talk to us here.

Right, that's the introduction done, now let's get you started. If you’re new to this community, here are few helpful hints to set you on your way...

How to register and login:

-       You can register by clicking here. Simply fill out your details and a confirmation will be sent to your e-mail address.

-       Next you need to click on the link and just like that, you’re in!

-       Once you have registered, you can login anytime by clicking here.

Posting a question:

Just hit the 'start new discussion' button and you can ask a question to the ever-expanding EE community. It's worth remembering that thousands of questions have already been answered so maybe do a search in the first instance.

Can’t find a solution? Then go ahead and ask the community!

When you hit 'Start A Discussion' you can choose from the categories provided (4G and Network, Products and Services, Accounts and Bills, Apps and More) Always make sure that the category your posting in is relevant to your question. All you need to do then is to write a snappy title in the subject line, type your question in the body of the text, format it as you see fit (a smiley goes a long way), tag away and then click the ‘Post’ button. Easy peasy.

Guidelines

We want this to be a happy and welcoming community, so we do have a few house rules that we ask you to stick to (nothing scary, just a few gentle do's and don'ts).

And here they are...

Inappropriate content – Keep your posts clean folks! Swearing, racism, sexism and obscene or pornographic content will not be tolerated. Content of this nature will be deleted and may incur a ban. We will also not accept posts that are libelous, threatening or include advertisement. Only the good stuff please!

No personal information – This is an open forum and therefore we do stress that you refrain from sharing personal information. This includes your full name, e-mail address, home address, telephone number, Blackberry PIN, credit card details or account number.

Be nice – We want people to enjoy our forums, therefore we do ask that you respect each other’s opinions. Lively debate is encouraged, abusive or threatening behaviour is not. Anyone who is behaving inappropriately or being rude to others will be warned and could face a ban.

Keep conversation "On Topic" – When replying to a post, make sure you stick to the topic in the thread. If you want to discuss something else, be it constructive feedback or a personal point of view, then do so in a new thread or via Private Message. And please, no spam. It clogs up an otherwise fluid conversation (this includes saying the same thing over and over again!)

Multiple postings - Please be patient while waiting for a response to your post and refrain from posting the same message across different boards or threads. Some questions may be trickier to answer and therefore may take longer to formulate a response.

Say ‘thanks’ – If you are satisfied with an answer to your question, make sure to say ‘thank you’ by pressing ‘Accepting as a solution’. Think someone is saying some good stuff within the community? Why not give them a pat on the back in the form of a ‘kudos’. It’s all about good netiquette.

Represent yourself - please do not post in the forum on behalf of another company.

Tagging - You can get the attention of a particular user by using the '@' key and selecting that users' name. Please don't overuse this functionality though or use tagging to aggressively pursue a user.

Keep discussion of account details private - The sharing of this information can endanger your account security. This includes details of conversations with customer service representatives or transactions on your account. It can also set other customers expectations wrongly, as each problem is dealt with on a case by case basis.

Do not discuss moderator actions publicly - Threads are now moderated on a full-time basis; breaking any guidelines may see your posts getting removed. If a moderator has actioned something you have a question about or disagree with, please sent them a private message if you'd like more information.

To ensure the wellbeing of the community is maintained, these guidelines may change along the way. We do recommend that you check back regularly to make sure you are up-to-date with the latest version.

Happy posting!
