Samsung s20- lots of questions!

So I've just upgraded to my s20.

I'm having a low problems

1) Is 4g the same as LTE? I don't seem to get 4g just LTE and I'm struggling to even get 4g when my partner on EE gets it all the time? My signal is so low compared to his in the same room.

 

2) My number has been ported but my texts from my contacts go to my old phone even though it has been disconnected, but texts from EE/Samsung go to my new phone?

4G and LTE is the same thing. If you are seeing LTE on your phone then you have 4G.

 

When did the port start? If today then it may not be fully ported yet can take til end of the day to complete.

What phone did you have before? Could be iMessage from iPhone or RCS?

Thank you! That makes sense.

Porting started yesterday late evening and finished this afternoon so maybe its just taking a little longer.

It doesn't show as LTE most of the time as I have zero bars,  its when I go into settings. My partner has better signal than me so I'm hoping its being affected by the port.

I had a Huawei p20 pro

Again it could be the port hasn't finished properly.

 

Try restarting the phone.

 

If it isn't fully working tomorrow then you will need to give EE a call.

Assuming all porting issues are resolved - are you both on EE Pay-Monthly?

Yes we are! All porting issues resolved except that texts still show as my temporary number on most occasions 

Found the issue! On texts, chat messages was turned on and for some reason this was making the texts go from the temporary number. With these turned off, although emojis don’t show the texts always go from my normal number!
