Disgusting Price Increase!

I've just had the email that you are now cashing in on the cost of living crisis by smashing a massive 14.4 % increase on my bill.

Its absolutely disgusting, at a time when people are struggling to eat and heat their homes you decide to hit us with that ridiculous increase, not just a few % you up it by 14.4%

Its sick and I'll never be using EE again when this contract ends, I'll also be going out of my way to warn other people from using you, there's absolutely no justification in a hike like that, its pure greed and you should be ashamed.

You're a disgrace!

I also had a call yesterday. I have to say that I didn't take the option to follow up with the Ombudsman because I didn't think it would help, but fair play to you.

EE have a lot of complaints, as no doubt other networks do. I think it's just down to me/us to move at the end of my/our contract. I'd already considered not upgrading this year but now I'm certain of it.

The unintended consequence of this could be a severe loss of Custom... unless retentions are going to go above and beyond.

Every needs to show their disgust in every way they can to make a point, please people wrote a bad review on trust pilot :

https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/ee.co.uk

it’s already terrible their rating, so let’s push it down further, how an earth they can justify the increases when their service is proven to be poor is beyond me.

complain to them, complain to the ombudsman and write a review, also warn everyone you come into contact with about their disgusting profiteering and make sure we hit their bottom line hard this year

If everyone does this in writing it will cause such a gridlock for them, having to reply individually to each letter and the cost etc is going to cause them a huge headheache and waste money, hopefully hitting their disgusting profits. They have to reply because if they dont try to resolve your complaint then we have more sway to go to the Ombudsman with and prove a service not fit for purpose.

Lets get together everyone, hit them where it hurts.

@Cookyweb : Your complaints article is for business custs. Most of us are not. Personal custs can make a formal complaint to EE & if you don't get satisfaction after 8 weeks you can take it to EE's ADR provider. See Complaints code of practice and here is the Complaints Form at the foot of the page.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

I think Trustpilot is a reasonable place to vent, but you know you will just get the same irritating cut and paste about being upfront and contract and cost of living blah blah blah. EE are too tied up now in their own contract wording to even know what they could do about anything even if they did want to.

For me, on 3 out of 4 of my lines, I have just 3 months left. It looks like if I were to pay about £400 up front, I could buy myself out of my contract and save £64 vs the increase. But, I can't work out if my service would continue for those 3 months... I don't think it would. But if it did, an option may be to get an interest free credit card and put it on that.... just out of principle. In fact, it would be tempting to do that for the other handset as well - again, just out of principle. Still examining my options.

Good luck everyone!

Hi Cresty,

You raise a very interesting point there actually, it might be worth considering getting an interest free credit card and paying off the contracts, I bet does work out cheaper and release more from this disgusting place, I'm going to look into that too and do some number crunching.

Because of their disgusting profiteering 15% way above cost of living CEO pocket lining price hike it should work out way cheaper using standard credit.

So, just spoke to EE... if you do cancel, it's 30 days notice and then no service from those 30 days. So, cancelling and paying off on CC isn't really an option. Just goes to show how all these Ts & Cs will come back to bite us. I'm sure in the future the only way any of these firms will attract us back is to re-write them but, until then, I imagine there's going to be a lot of switching at the end of contract.
