4G to 5G sim

I have a 4G sim on a 24 month contract (due for an upgrade). I have ordered a 5G phone. In order to get a 5G sim will EE just send me a new sim (with the same number) or do I need to enter into a new contract for a 5G sim only plan?

EE SIM card works for a little while when inserted then stops.
