Activating eSIM stuck

iPhone 16 pro max stuck on activating eSIM screen.
says “you can continue setting up you’re iPhone while your eSIM is activating.”
but there’s the spinning ring at the bottom, and cannot leave that screen. Has been 20+ mins, probably longer.
Anyone else had this and have a solution?

I’ve had no data since 11th October can’t call as no data had to use chat I’m so unhappy got to wait for sim to arrive by post

I appreciate it's not easy to get in touch when you haven't got any service @Pinkypine55
If you didn't want to wait for one to be sent by post and you are the account holder, you can pop into an EE store with photo ID (driving license or passport) and they can issue a replacement there and then.

So you get a new SIM card from the EE Store. You’re up and a physical SIM.
You now want to convert it to an eSIM as you might want a non EE physical SIM like myself. Using the EE app you get an eSIM pop in your text messages code.
Welcome to the merry go round; it just fails to activate yet again. Only bonus is you still have your number on the physical SIM to use.
Come on EE - please get this sorted 🙂

Do you have a pay monthly account? Are you connected to mobile data or WiFi when trying to download the eSIM?
