Hi

i keep receiving text messages from JibeRCS with messenger verification codes I have not requested.

Each time I delete the message and block the number but they keep coming and are clearly spam.

How do I stop this ?

Thanks

You can turn off chat without an Android phone now, see...

Jibe provide the RCS for Android.

These are done automatically are are not spam. They are sent to verify yourself.

You could be losing connection to the servers a lot and then automatically reconnecting which would preform another verification.

Unfortunately annoying texts, calls tend to keep coming from different numbers , so blocking one can do not much good as the next call, text tends to come from a different number.

My advice is to keep blocking them to see if they become less frequent.

Don't click on any links in the texts.

A last resort, you can get in touch with customer service on 150 and request a telephone number change, and they will discuss any charge for this. But from memory, if the number change is due to nuisance calls, texts, it is usually free.

@Fatboy71 changing numbers won't help.

As I stated it's the company that android use for their RCS messaging.

So when @Steph1807  changes number and then rejoins RCS it'll keep happening.

They need to find out why they keep losing connection to RCS.

Maybe clearing cache/data on messaging app and starting afresh.

If you don't use RCS you could just turn it off. I rarely seem to find any of my contacts are using it.

@Steph1807

What is the device/brand/model that is getting these verification codes?   Smartphone? Tablet?

Samsung, Motorola, Oppo, Nokia, Google,  Sony, some other?

Mate I’m getting them on Apple, never owned an Android in my life and don’t even know what it is. Wondering if someone is trying to access my account.

Hi @Muld00ny,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

What is the full content of the message you are receiving on your Apple device?

James

Your Messenger verification code is G-027219 - I got 4 of these over 2 hours

Hi @Muld00ny

Have you recently changed from Android to Apple by any chance?

Thanks
