Cant send text messages keep getting a variety of errors EE server 500 flow error and error 332.

I have made zero changes to settings. This started with slow messaging on the 28th June 2026. 10 mins or so to send and multiple times (3+)

Today nothing. No messages. Restarting the device can temporarily bring back text messaging but the mobile data is turned off.

It wont allow both. I can spam the settings to wake up mobile data 4g by turning 'airplane mode' on and off several times but text messages seem to have been disabled. Android 10 phone. 7 years old. Ill try some updates to see if that helps. But im at a loss.

Helps/tips please

Thanks Steven

Try a 2way SIM-swap to identify whether the phone or SIM is causing this. I suspect the phone, but that's easily proven...

Put your non-working SIM in a known working phone, and test - what result?

Can you receive texts?

For sending texts, ensure your phone's Messaging app has the Message Centre no. setting for EE as +447958879879.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Did the swap into a new handset. Worked fine but had a different way of messaging that used wifi/data. Worked fine but not an sms. Turned off data and it reverted to basic sms. So both working. Old phone didn't have messaging with data on. So on new phone turned this feature off in the settings.

Went back to the old phone, reinstalled the sim. Messaging now back in basic sms. This phone didnt have enhanced messaging. Think thats where the confusion came as apps get updated. The phone doesn't support that feature.

I mostly usr my old phone as at work im not too bothered if it breaks but won't take the new one.. Yet😅. But not having sms stopped me buying supplies. Its fixed for now. But im guessing on its last hurrah before a rerminal end.

Thanks for the support. Wether my changes actually did anything I'm not too certain - old phone droppex 1 time too many.

For a time no. Nothing worked. I either had old sms features but no data or data without sms services. Think I've fudged a fix. Part of updates to messages on android using data broke it on my old phone. Reverting back to basic sms (uninstall sms updates) Is my unskilled guess / fix. But its back to working - for now.

Thankyou for the suggestions. Appreciated - Steven
