Withdrawal of 3G service.

The 3G system is being closed down in my area to prepare for 5G. I know 4GLTE will continue for a while.When I buy a 5G device , how can I find out if my current EE SIM card ending ****6429 will work at 5G?Will I have to get a new mobile number?.
