EE’s 600GB FUP on "Unlimited" Plans is an Absolute Joke

"It's nearly 2027, yet we're still dealing with this archaic 600GB Fair Use Policy slapped onto plans explicitly marketed as 'unlimited.'

Let's be completely realistic for a second: a single modern AAA game download or digital library update can easily swallow over 100GB. Throw in 4K streaming, multi-gigabyte routine patches, and normal everyday household use, and hitting 600GB isn't 'commercial abuse' or 'non-personal use'—it's just basic modern life.

Hiding behind the small print of T&Cs to defend a restrictive numerical cap doesn't change the fact that labeling a plan 'unlimited' while policing heavy data is completely misleading and out of touch. Other providers have moved on to truly unthrottled data, and it's well past time EE scrapped this dark-ages restriction instead of treating basic digital tasks like a crime."

Quite apart from the obvious grammatical error... is it just possible that not everyone agrees with your viewpoint?

That doesn't make them a shill, bootlicker, or any other cheap insult you choose to throw.

Focusing on a typo instead of the actual point tells you everything you need to know. Still waiting for anyone to explain how a capped 600GB plan can honestly be called 'unlimited'."🤡

@Doubleagent2022  It’s a fair usage policy it doesn’t mean you’ll be hit the moment you go over 600Gb with a slower connection.  EE reserve the right to do so though should you consistently go over the fair usage policy.   It’s not 600Gb and that’s it no more until the following month.   It’s not a cap at 600Gb.

And thanks for that comment as obviously someone who doesn’t agree with you your only comeback is derogative comments, shows the sort of person who you are.    Best of luck and if you’re not happy with EE FUP and obviously your not why are you even here on the EE forum kicking off about something that you have no intention of having via EE.    A pointless comment it would seem to just have a rant because life’s not fair when you don’t get what you want.

Call it a 'fair usage policy' instead of a cap all you want, but reserving the right to penalise or throttle a connection for going over 600GB means it isn't unlimited. If there's a ceiling where management starts watching you, the word 'unlimited' is just false advertising."

Complaining about tone doesn't magic away the fine print. If a plan is sold as 'unlimited,' a 600GB restriction with threats of throttling isn't unlimited—it's misleading marketing. Pointing that out isn't a rant; it's calling out bad practice." 🤣🤣🤡

@Doubleagent2022  Its not a cap at 600Gb if you hit it.  You’ve totally missed what I put.  EE reserves the right to hit you with a slower connection should you CONSISTENTLY GO OVER the fair usage policy.  It doesn’t mean you’ll will be if you do.    It is unlimited still.

and I see you’ve now moved to emojis.

if you don’t like what EE  has to offer, don’t join EE go find another network provider it’s that simple.

Saying 'we only threaten to slow your speed if you do it consistently' doesn't make a restricted plan unlimited—it just means they enforce the ceiling in slow motion. If there's a limit where penalties kick in, the word on the label is wrong. No amount of lecturing changes that."

It's easy to say 'go find another network provider' when you aren't living with the local infrastructure. Try doing that around TF4 where O2, Vodafone, and Three are all a complete letdown for fixed replacement, leaving EE as the only network actually pushing proper speeds. When you're stuck with that kind of local monopoly, getting hit with a 600GB restriction on a plan sold as 'unlimited' isn't something to shrug off—it's the only game in town getting squeezed by misleading marketing."

you're so tech-savvy that you've posted the same message twice. I didn't realise it was a competition.

Out of interest, is there a reason you're looking to replace a fixed-line connection in your area/
