Struggling this month

Am wondering if I can change billing date with my outstanding balance due to the 25th of this month as I am a single mother and can’t have no phone to contact people? And then change my actual billing date to the 30th of each month

Sim only deals then upgrading

So i am on a 12 month sim only deal..can you upgrade at any point on sim only or does the same still apply as if you are taking out the phone as a contract and you have to wait the full 12 months before upgrading?
