Hi All.
First post here.
I have recently noticed a trend with my EE provided hub router for fibre connection, we have to disconnect the WIFI 3 to 4 times before we are able to connect to the internet, it keeps saying connected to WIFI but no internet. The location of the router is under the stairs surrounded on 2 sides by a stud wall/door, above it is the staircase.
This has led me to buying the ASUS RT-AC86U router, I bought this for 2 reasons.
Better signal coverage
VPN capability.
The problem now is that I cannot get it to work on the EE network, its almost like it doesn’t know that the RJ11 cable is connected. The RJ11/telephone cable is connected but it doesn’t see this. I have input the credentials for the EE broadband and its correct, but still no joy. I am trying to think what the issue could be here.
I have rang up EE to ensure that the username/password details are correct and they are indeed correct.
Thanks in advance.

@platforminc Your Asus router is just a router and has no built in modem.
Which type of EE fibre do you have? Is there an Openreach modem fitted?
I can't see your pic just yet, it awaits a mod to approve it.

As @Mustrum says you've got the wrong roter. You should have got the DSL version not the RT.

Furthermore & as a consequence of it being a router only, it has no RJ11 port. You have plugged a telephone cable into an Ethernet port.
