Hey! I can't seem to find this information anywhere online and feels silly having to call for such a simple question.
My broadband contract with EE ended ages ago and I have been paying monthly ever since.
I've realised I'm paying over £10 more a month for the lowest speed EE offer compared to how much they charge a new customer for the same plan, not great service for someone who has been your customer for such a long time.
I'm moving to Virgin Media so I will need to cancel directly with EE, I can't just switch.
I just want to know if I need to call up and give notice of me cancelling my broadband? Or can I call up on the day I want to cancel the broadband?
I don't want to be caught out with a notice period and end up paying for two contracts at the same time.
Additionally, if there is no notice period, can I call up and cancel in advance? i.e. Could I call up today and tell them the date I want EE to stop supplying my wifi and then they will cancel it on that date, or would I need to call up on the date I want it to end?

@Matthewadawson You need to give 14 days notice of termination. Having a few days over lap is probably a good thing though.
Every ISP does new customer offers. If you upgraded to a new contract you’ll get a better deal that you would when out of contract. Being in contract gets you a better deal.

@Matthewadawson I presume you will not be keeping the same phone number when you transfer?
If you were transferring your number to VM this will result in your EE Broadband and line being cancelled.
