I can only get standard broadband where I live. I use a wired computer for myself and occasionally a Chromebook in a different part of the downstairs...bearable on PC, very slow on Chromebook and the latter is painfully slow upstairs !
My Grandson is coming to live with me soon and will want to use his laptop upstairs so being not very tech savvy not sure if there's anything I can do/buy to boost the signal sufficiently for him....additionally there is virtually NO mobile signal here either and I would also be looking for a way to allow him to use his mobile without having to go out in the garden as I currently do with my doro nanphone on PAYG, (on fair weather days I can use it if I stand pressed against the back door).....any advice most welcome bearing in mind I dont necessarily understand jargon or a lot of tech acronyms...sorry. Thanks in advance....

Have you considered WiFi range extenders ?
If your grandson has a mobile capable of WiFi Calling he can use that over your BB.
