Hi
so after trying to take out a new contract with EE over the phone they now tell me I have a outstanding debt against my name for T-mobile line I closed 15years+
i thought when you closed a account you then get a final settlement bill and that’s it why now 15years later do I have outstanding debt and why have I never been contacted about this for the last 15+ years?
then they can’t tell me over the phone how much debt it is I have to go in to a EE store to verify who I am
has anyone else experienced this before?

Hi @Kirat7
Sorry to hear that you have outstanding debt through T-Mobile.
Have you ever received anything from debt collection agencies about this? We take security very seriously. If you're unable to pass one of our security checks, you'd be asked to go to a retail store with ID.
Hopefully once you've done that, we'll be able to help you get some information about the debt and get it sorted.
Keep us posted on what happens.

Nope nothing from anyone regarding this
as far as I was concerned when I closed my account everything was settled.
I spoke to EE today the guy said Iv passed all security checks gave all info needed but because it’s been so long I have to go to a shop to find out exactly where that debt came from they cnt tell me which is strange

Hi @Kirat7 ,
In addition to the above good advice, you may wish to obtain your credit reports ("statutory report") to double check the actual situation and read the applicable advice online before you take things further.

Shouldnt be on any credit file if it's that old, after 6 years of Nothingness it automatically gets removed.
