Says pac code has expired but it hasn’t

Hi, I’ve just moved to EE, got my pac code from Vodaphone and sent it to EE well before 30 days when I ordered the sim. Sim has arrived and I received a text to say pac has expired. Called Vodafone and they’ve said it was activated by EE already but when I ring my old number it doesn’t work. Can’t get through to EE on the phone, this is a nightmare. Can anyone help? Thanks so much.

Did you switch your number while ordering the SIM? or after? if it's the latter it can take up to 48 hours for the transfer to complete.

 

Also when I last called EE they picked up in 5 minutes - this was at 7:30pm though

I did it when I ordered the sim. I’ll wait a few more hours to see if it works and then try and call again. I suspect they may have sent me the wrong sim. Thanks so much for responding.

I can see that you have had some great advice from @Kirigaya_Kazuto already this morning.

 

Has your new SIM card activated yet? Once this happens depending when the PAC was used the number will transfer over with the activation.

 

Any number porting requests that were completed after 5pm on a Friday won't start to process until Monday morning. It will then complete in 24 hours.

 

If you are using an Apple device, you will need to manually change your number in the phone. You can do this in Settings > Phone > My Number > Insert correct mobile number

When did you get your PAC from Vodafone? Was it, say, more thn 26 days ago - if it's tipped over the 30day limit by the time it's been submitted into the network system.

 

If your VF SIM is still live, are you able to text PAC to 65075 and see whether it returns the same code?

Hi everyone, thanks so much for your help. Just to let you know I spoke to EE and it actually takes 48 hours to activate and won’t activate on a weekend. Hope this helps someone else! Thanks!
