Samsung galaxy fold z release

I have pre ordered the fold z and had conflicting information from EE, such as the 18,21 September and we have no date so no one should be giving out a date is what I have been told.

Do we have a confirmed ee release date as to when I will get my product

Thanks

I mean it seems sort of ridiculous that we'd have to call EE's supplier (Samsung) in the hopes of getting a clearer answer than the one EE has given.

Have you ever tried Samsung support? If you think EE is bad then you will be mortified at how bad Samsung is. I love their tech but their customer service is abysmal. Besides I don't think they would give you any information relating to supply.

I agree completely but I'm going to give it a try. Wish me luck.

Hi mate,

Haven't contacted Samsung but reading their community forums. Some people are having delivery issues and getting compensated £50 for delays.  Some people have received their items, some people get update some Samsung saying dates between 21st-3rd October

Samsung won't be able to tell us when EE are getting stock unfortunately. There is stock in the country as Samsung direct customers are getting theirs. EE just need to come out and say what's going on. Someone knows what's happening. I don't mind waiting but I want a date.

Wow, that Samsung community forum makes for some depressing reading.

Top and tail of it is Samsung had not anticipated the demand for this device. If you look on XDA Developers site the same situation exists in the US. Just haven't manufactured enough units.

My beef is that when you pre-order something, there should be a cap and the pre-orders then have a guaranteed allocation. Otherwise what's the point?

So far there is absolutely no advantage in pre-ordering, other than for EE where they get people's upfront payments early. There wasn't even a gift incentive for this crazy expensive device.

I will definitely not fall into this trap again. It's too stressful.

The link for the Samsung site has been removed. Just spoken to an advisor who said they don't know when stock will be available 🥺

This is my first time pre-ordering a phone, might be my last now haha. Luckily I work from home (did pre-covid) so it's not a huge issue, it's just annoying to have no clue about the status of your order.

I'd have hoped samsung divided up some stock to go to carriers, but I don't know how that relationship really works.

It's still showing here... two posts above mine.

But as I said it's similar to our comments here. It's a total mess. The only thing the Samsung customers are getting that we aren't offered is a £50 compensation credit. And some have been sent Galaxy Buds Live wireless earphones.

Fat chance of getting similar compensation from EE.

Sorry for the long update from me today.

Spoke to someone on the phone today again. His update for me was that the phones are still not in stock for EE but could potentially arrive today for dispatch today long story short.

Said that they will send them today up to around 7PM - 8PM for next day if they arrive.

So we just have to wait I guess.

@Rachel1977 Did you get anything from DPD today for yours?
