I’ve upgraded my phone and received a new SIM card. It won’t activate so I rang EE. They put me on hold while they ‘fixed’ it but it didn’t work. now my old phone has no signal either. I can’t ring anyone to get it fixed and can’t contact EE any other way. I’m so frustrated

Welcome to EE community
A replacement SIM is often supplied with new phones incase there's a problem with your existing one or it doesn't fit - but if your existing SIM fitted your new phone and was functioning, you could have just used it.
That said - there is no account access on this public forum, but you can call EE C/S from any other phone using 0800 0798586.
