Moving from 4G SIMO plan to 5G

GSDog
Explorer

I am currently 14 months into a 24 month 4G contract with EE.

I have just ordered a new 5G phone elsewhere (not on a contract) and I'd like to use it with my EE SIMO.

Do I need to request a new 5G SIM and will my current 4G SIM work on my 5G phone?

Many thanks.

Your current 4G SIM will work in your 5G phone but if you want to use 5G you will need to upgrade your current 4G plan to a 5G plan.

Thank you.

Seeing as there is currently no 5G in my area anyhow I will wait until the end of my contract term and/or until 5G is more readily available before upgrading.
