How to i retain existing EE mobile number when I change to SIM only contract. Just moved to SIM only but has a different mobile number on it. Need original number for work but EE instructions does not provide advice unless I was moving from an outside provider to EE (which I am not).

It sounds like you have been sent a new sim and number; when I changed from contract to sim only I just used my existing sim. Did you do this online or over the phone? If you accidentally selected a new contract rather than an upgrade that would explain it.
Give them a call and they will sort it out for you.

Hi @Bribrookes
What did you move to a SIM-only plan, from? If it was a handset plan, then it was just a change of plan and shouldn't need a new SIM to be issued. You just carry on using the SIM you already had.
Perhaps you also got a new phone or for whatever other reason, was sent a replacement SIM. Have you activated it onto your number?

Hi - moved from handset plan. Not touched the SIM yet as I have still got 4 days left on my monthly plan.

If your existing SIM still works, and will fit in whatever phone you want to use it with, then simply continue using it.
There's no need to change your SIM just for the sake of it.

Hi @Bribrookes,
Welcome back to the community.
Does your email confirmation say your order was for an upgrade?
Thanks
James

@chrissie22 Sounds like you need to be talking to C/S to get this sorted. Either 150 from your phone, or 0800 0798586 from any other phone.
Wait for the recorded message about vulnerable people to finish, and wait in the queue. Your query needs an agent to have account-access and no-one's going to criticise you for speaking to an agent.
