How to get sim cut during lockdown

Missy996

Hello,

I am getting a new phone but my current EE pay-as-you-go sim is too big for my new phone and none of the nearby EE shops are open due to coronavirus.

Does anyone know any other way to get my sim cut or if EE would send out new smaller sim?

Thanks

@James_B : I got 4 free PAYG/Flex SIMs from the online store, the PoS. It was given my postal addy in order to send them. Yet the online replacement SIM form refuses to recognise them. Why?

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC => 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC => 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC => 2022: EE 80 Meg FTTC (no landline number)

So i need to have told you my address before at some point, and for Pay-as-you-go this is only possible at POS or if i call customer care?

That is just awkward, why not add a way for pay-as-you-go to update their address online? I get anxiety from calling people especially for things like phones, where i dont know much about them or the terminology, but i have no other way to solve this as pay-as-you-go also cant use the online chat service.

Hi @XRaySpeX,

It may be that free of charge SIM orders don't trigger account registration.

I'll see if I can find out some further information for you.

Thanks

James

No problem @XRaySpeX 🙂

Thank you for your help.

I have received my new SIM and placed it in my new phone and the new phone shows that it is connected to ee and i have signal - does this mean i dont have to activate my new SIM?

That's right!
