EE mobile broadband discount

I am on a SIM only contract and have just received a text from EE saying they are changing their SIM plans – the new plan I am being offered is significantly worse than my current plan. I've also recently started a broadband package, with a discount due to having a phone contract. If I leave EE mobile, will I also lose this discount?

Thanks

If you have a discount for having a mobile contract how do you expect to retain it if you no longer have a mobile contract?

If the discount was applied up front on the entire contract term? (no need for the condescending tone, thanks)

Company – lock customer into broadband contract using discount as incentive. Increase price of mobile contract, using broadband discount as incentive to stay. Profit.

Been with EE mobile for many many years with no such 'change in mobile plans' being forced on me.

Hi @eyt13

Thanks for coming to the community about this.

I hope you're well and having a nice day other than this issue.

Can I just check, are you currently in contract with your mobile phone?

Thanks

Chris

Hi @Christopher_B

Yep, my plan name is: EE SIM 4GB £17R

Thanks

Thanks @eyt13

Without posting any personal information, could you please tell me exactly what the text you received said?

Thanks

Chris

Sure:

Hi *name*

We've freshened up our SIM plans and we need to move you to a new one. We've put together all your options at http://discover.ee.co.uk/g7X4A0x7

Or, if you do nothing, we'll automatically move you to a new 30-day rolling SIM plan with 40GB, unlimited mins and texts for £19 a month on 20 July.

Your current price and benefits will change if we move you onto this and your plan and some other charges will increase annually on or after 31 March each year in line with CPI+ 3.9%. For full details go to http://discover.ee.co.uk/g7X4A0x7

If you're not happy with these changes, you can choose to leave EE - though we really hope you'll stay.

@eyt13 Thanks for that I appreciate it.

It sounds like you may be out of your minimum term and your current plan is going to be removed.

The best thing to do is contact our customer care team so they can look into your options. They'll try their best to kind you a new plan that you'll love.

Thanks

Chris
