My account and bill says my recent bill is paid but my bank account isn’t showing that the money has been taken so the bill actually been paid or not?

The DD has probably started to be put in motion. Doesn't your bank a/c show it as pending? What was your bill date?

So my direct debit is the 17th of every month the bill shows paid my bank account doesn’t say it’s pending or anything so I don’t know if money has been taken or not 

Bank transactions don't happen on w/ends. It'll probably appear tomorrow.

What do you mean my billing date 

Your billing date is the date each month when your bills are produced & bundle allowances reset.

Oh the 9th of every month

It should appear at your bank tomorrow. No bank transactions will be dated Sat. or Sun.
