Hi all,
Apologies if this has been asked before but I can’t find the exact info I’m looking for so some clarification would be excellent thanks...
I have an existing EE pay monthly iPhone 11 plan for 100gb data and unlimited mins & texts and I am contemplating purchasing the new Apple Watch 6 (with cellular) outright from Apple.
My query is... would I be able to link the watch to my phone and share my ‘existing’ monthly allowances for data/calls/texts? or would I have to pay extra charges for the use of the watch on top? I’ve seen some threads suggesting maybe an extra £7 for this, but in the write up on EE website it seems suggestive that if you already have an existing EE plan then all you have to do is link the watch via the watch app on the phone then you’re all set...?
I really need this clarification as I already pay plenty for my plan and and if it’s going to cost even more then I might be better off saving £100 and just getting the ‘GPS’ version and making do having to carry my phone everywhere.... which kinda negates why I want the watch...
Thank you in advance for any help clearing this up for me 👍

Hi @Rixta1978
Welcome to the community.
The information both @BrendonH and @Chris_B is spot on. You can pay to have 10gb of standalone data on you Apple Watch. This means you can use the watch for calls, texts and data when you're nowhere near the phone.
You can use the watch without this, however you would need to be connected to your phone when it comes to calls, texts and data.
Thanks.
Chris.

It will be an extra £7 a month if you want to be able to use the watch for calls etc even when you have left your phone at home.

@Rixta1978 You’ll get 10Gb of data just for the watch per month. it’ll not use your phone data allowance. Only your calls/texts will come from your phone allowance.
you’ll not use 5Gb per month.
