Transferring Apple watch to another phone

Good Evening

I have an EE account with a couple of phone lines and a cellular Apple watch plan. I want to transfer the watch so my daughter can use it with her phone. I unpaired it from my phone and paired it with hers which all worked until I tried to reactivate the data plan. It keeps taking me to a page to buy a new data plan for the watch.

Do EE have to do something at their end to unlink it from my number so it can then be linked with hers? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Stu-Mac,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Yes, if your Watch plan is linked to your phone number, you'll need to contact Customer Care to cancel that plan.

You'll then be able start a new plan linked to your daughters number.

Hi James

i purchased the watch through EE and it came with a data plan, can this not be transferred and used with the other phone? Otherwise this will mean I would  end up paying for two data plans?

Hi @Stu-Mac

Thanks for coming back to us.

Is your daughter's number on the same account as the number paired to the watch?

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

Yes the phones and watch are all on the same account.
