I phone battery drain

Hi, has any one experienced iPhone battery drain since joining EE ?

I was transferred over from Plusnet just over a month ago and have noticed the battery on my iPhone 6s does not last half as long as it use to, checked the battery use and condition and all looks normal with a battery condition of 90%. My wife has the same phone and has experienced the same issue. The battery drain appears to be worse over night when not in use , and no app’s running in the background.

Any ideas much appreciated

@Clifford11j  actually closing the apps from the switcher uses more battery power when you open them again.  To start an app it uses more battery power as opposed to when it’s in the switcher it’s actually frozen so uses less power to open it again.

@Clifford11j   Your battery status stating it’s now 89% when previously it was at 98%. Is your device reporting the state of the battery and this has nothing todo with EE or the network.

If you have access to a Mac download coconut battery and connect the device it'll state how many charge cycles the battery has had and the state of that battery.     Sorry to say but there’s not a chance the device is at 98% battery state on 6s that’s not had a new battery since you’ve had this.    The battery after 500 cycles should be around 80%.    A cycle is 0-100. Or 50 to 100 twice or anything that adds up to 100 on a number of charges.

Chris not quite sure what you are trying to say , all have told you is what my phone is telling me and at this point the maximum capacity of the battery on the phone shows 89%.

you obviously have a better knowledge of these things than me, all I can tell you is the battery drains faster since being transferred over from Plusnet to EE Fact .

In your original post @Clifford11j you said your battery was at 90% capacity, not 98% which is what you are now saying.

Have you turned on wifi calling as suggested?

Under Battery what do the usage stats show for the last 24hrs, including screen on times? For me yesterday, 72% of the charge used was due to no mobile coverage, but the battery charge level only dropped down to 89% and that was over 15 hours.

Sorry that should have been 89% not 98%.

To be honest I wish I never posted the original question asking if any one was experiencing a higher battery drain since transferring over from Plusnet to EE .

Chris , i just did what you sugested with Coconut battery and this is the results it came up with.

iPhone 6s

Manufacture date 2019-04-15

ios 15.8

Storage 32GB

Current charge 1170mAh

Fullcharge capacity 1252mAh

Design capacity 1715mAh

If i togal over to history it says

Date of data 2023-11

Health 82%

Cycles 454.

So as you can see the phone although being 4 years old has not had a lot of use.

Thanks for coming here @Lyns30

Have you tried the steps in the Batteries - Maximising Performance - Apple (UK) support page?

Leanne 🙂

@Clifford11j  and the battery capacity of being 82% is about on par with how many charge cycles the battery has received.

This is about battery capacity not a battery draining issue.  The battery will not last as long because it only got a charging capacity of 82%.   so why it looks like it’s got a draining issue it’s actually a charge capacity as the battery has chemically aged,  if you were to put a new battery in this It will change completely and you’ll notice that the device will last longer on a single charge.

can I also ask where did you get this device from ?

sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I’ve just had really hectic week
