Force 4G

Hi Everyone,

I'm on Android and was forced to use 5G when I joined up with EE last week. On other phones the *#*#4636#*#* worked, but on my Honor M8 Pro it doesn't. But this does work, put your phone on POWER SAVING mode, it only means if your battery goes below 20% it will kick in, but it FORCES 4G! Problem solved, try it! 🙂👌🏻

Why would you not want to use 5G.

Is there no settings under connection.

I should've mentioned were not in a 5G area so we need 4G.

We don't have 5G in our area so we need 4G. No there's no option under settings to disable 5G or change it to 4G.

You only need to reply once, you can edit posts if necessary.

5G phones will use 4G as a matter of course, anywhere that there's no 5G coverage. When in NSA mode, a 5G phone will also use 4G for calls by design.

You don't need a phone setting for this to work.
