Serios Link - Not Working

Hi All, i have had BT / EE TV for a few years now and have not had any problems with recording series links until the most recent update on the TV box pro which changed the  whole interface.

I watch F1 and for the last 3-4 yeats I have had every practice / Qualifying  / Race on a " Seties Record " and never had issues.

Since the most recenr update on the TV Pro Box all my F1 Series Linls have gone, i have tried setting them up again but I no longer get the option to choose " Record Series" it just records that 1 Program. It works for some things like for Teds Notebook but not for the practive qualifying or race.

I have done  a factory reset to see if that helps but still nothing.

Its the Austrian GP this weekend and When i hit the record button the "Live Austrian F1 Grand Prix  Qualifying" it simply doesnt ask me the question if I want to recors the program or series , therefore I have to manually record each Qualifying each week it happens.

What can I do to get this sorted as it is quite frustrating!

Manu thanks !

I'm just off a call with a large number of people, as we traced the F1 fault through all the various systems.  We CAN see that the recording ID for the main event changed 12 hours before it started - it shouldn't have changed, and a deep analysis of why that happened is underway.

For this specific case though, if the series had been recorded instead of the individual programme, it would have recorded successfully - along with a number of other programmes that weren't relevant, which is also being investigated (i.e. why were they considered part of the same series). Please note that the recordings list will show 2 entries for the main event - one failure (from before the ID change), and one success (with the new ID).

We'll be holding this call every night this week, investigating specific failures one by one, and also scrutinising the data for the F1 this coming weekend.

Hi Darren

really appreciate the update. This is the most interactive EE have been in a year. Is it worth compiling a list of things that EE doesn't do that Sky stream does better? Whilst series record is a true pain, the work around is to manually  enter each program as long as I remember within the 1 week before the event as that's as far the schedule goes in advance.

The advice we normally give is to schedule the individual items, as series recording was unreliable for a while.  In this particular case, series recording would have been more reliable.

Unfortunately there's no right answer at the moment, which is why it's more important than ever that we understand why it's failing.

Only observations  and a bit of speculation.

For the F1  live race it seems that the synopsis  in the EETV guides for the program is changing  ... looks like someone  revised it with information  about the starting  grid positions for the Australian  GP. Now those grid positions would only be determined  once the qualifying sessions completed. I doubt  that in itself should impact the CRiDs  used to identify the programme but it is indicative that some of the data within the EPG. The synopsis for this Sunday  Chinese  GP also seems to have changed over past few days so does seem that it gets updated/revised in the week  leading up to the race.

Yes, in our daily calls we've had lots of in-depth discussions about what can change, when, how, and which systems it affects.

Specifically for the F1 this weekend, all automation has been disabled.  Data is being manually controlled, to prevent any changes that could result in failed recordings.  This applies to the race, as well as all supporting shows, highlights, etc.

Next week, we'll reintroduce the automation but closely monitored to see everything that it changes.

Recordings are now the sole focus of the entire TV Box team.
