Serios Link - Not Working

Hi All, i have had BT / EE TV for a few years now and have not had any problems with recording series links until the most recent update on the TV box pro which changed the  whole interface.

I watch F1 and for the last 3-4 yeats I have had every practice / Qualifying  / Race on a " Seties Record " and never had issues.

Since the most recenr update on the TV Pro Box all my F1 Series Linls have gone, i have tried setting them up again but I no longer get the option to choose " Record Series" it just records that 1 Program. It works for some things like for Teds Notebook but not for the practive qualifying or race.

I have done  a factory reset to see if that helps but still nothing.

Its the Austrian GP this weekend and When i hit the record button the "Live Austrian F1 Grand Prix  Qualifying" it simply doesnt ask me the question if I want to recors the program or series , therefore I have to manually record each Qualifying each week it happens.

What can I do to get this sorted as it is quite frustrating!

Manu thanks !

Thanks @zulu17 - I've passed on your update.

Feel free to email any other issues you find to tv.apps@ee.co.uk and I'll forward directly on to the team responsible - at least for now, whilst we get settled in with this new provider.  We do have our own monitoring in place too for many aspects of the data, but for seriesCrid it's hard to know when a programme definitely should have it.

Hi There, update on the issue, ive just noticed that although most of the recordinngs now seem to be allowing series link recording the " Live: British F1 Grand Prix: Practice 2" is still not working and only recording that 1 session on Sky Sports F1 HD

Practice 1  & Practive 3 now are both recording fine and so does Qualifying the actual Grand prix on sunday, but Practice 2 still doesnt seem to have a link series.

I only recently got EE TV with NOW (literally 3wks ago) so that I could carry on with F1 following the cancellation of my very expensive Sky package.

I was delighted that I could have F1 and just in time after the summer break and thought I had figured out how to do series link and already sussing that programmes like the F1 show would not work tdye to missing data but a couple of my Practice shows have failed and whilst the series link worked for some of this weekend it hadn't for qualifying or the actual grand Prix this afternoon? I have now set it to record manually but this worries me for if I am on holiday.....can you record from an app on your phone and send to box like you can with sky?

Also, I noted the series link has recorded 29 episodes of F1 things I would not have recorded ......like re-runs of grand Prix shows and F1 explained, etc......has anyone else experienced this and have any idea how to stop this or am I at the mercy of the data in the background that is shared form sky to now and therefore better to just manually record each weekend/day

If it helps… yes, experiencing the same thing. Having hit record in F1, MoroGP and World SBK, I got the option to Series Record on each.
All work for the next event, but then are intermittent for everything that follows.

Today, for instance is a good example, it’s the MotoGP from Phillip Island, F1 from Austin and final round of World SBK from Jerez.

MoroGP just says “failed to record”.

F1 just doesn’t have any recordings planned. It’s ignored the series record

World SBK recorded as normal. But last week, didn’t record the Sunday races.

I have to head to the Discovery+ app each time to try and track down a recording, which is always a truncated / minimal version.

Used to be with BT, and Virgin before. Never had such an unreliable service as I have with this EE box. Essentially, you’re not alone.

I have raised this topic multiple times last F1  season and twice they replaced my box despite m knowing this was a meta data issue and not likely hard or firmware. They finally admitted it as a known problem and that there was no planned fix. Apparently their "contract" doesn't include this as part of a service so no going back to Sky until end of contract.

I haven't risked doing a series record during testing as I have not been home to check on it. Has anyone tested it recently? I've put afternoon testing Day 4 in for series record to test it from the EE phone app.

I can't believe more people aren't complaining since this is basic functionality for a time shifting recording service.

Sorry that the agents have gone off script @JanCh - we have known issues, and they ARE still being actively worked monitored and worked on.  Where issues with data are found, they're raised with our supplier and corrected.

Thanks for the update. And this is precisely one of the reasons why when my contract expires I will be leaving EE. Nearly a year and still not fixed. No F1 in 4k. Inconsistent recording meaning you can't rely on time shifting. An interface that really needs a complete redesign as a UI because it does not aggregate watch lists and saved content across all source streaming platforms. No form of compensation for ongoing issues as recompense for poor delivery. Support agents who aren't up to speed with known issues and go down the hardware swap out root first with all of the inconvenience that entails.

Apologies for the rant, but no agent has ever given a satisfactory response to the above, and there's no timeline for resolution or correct acknowledgement of the root cause.

Will be waiting for  my time with EE to expire (May)  then I will also be making a choice.

EE are NOT serious about solving this. They will happily send an engineer round who cannot do anything as the problem is a software issue. EE just pay lip service to the issue but do not resolve it.

So it was formula one this weekend so I thought I'd risk testing series record.

I put practice 1-3, qualifying, go preamble, go, chequered flag, team principal interviews and Ted's notebook in.

Success on everything until the race preamble which it failed to record and the race.

It also recorded multiple episodes of the F1 show I didn't request.

Verdict.... Unreliable still.

Oh and has anyone ever successfully found a film or programme using the search function, let alone something obscure like a channel or artist?!!

Just to put to put on record that I'd hoped the problems of last F1 Season and more general problems with Recordings in the last few months might have considerably eased. However although Recordings of Australian F1 Practices and Qualifying have all worked as expected I was SO disappointed  to get up this morning and see the dreaded "Failed to Record" for the Grand Prix itself. This was despite it appearing that the Description for the Race on EPG appeared to be identical to when I set Recording .

For those who might say watch on the App ,that is not why I use eetvbox pro - for F1 all I want to do is watch from the Start of the Race (not interested in preamble) and Fast Forward through the Race  should i wish to interesting parts.
