Changing tv package

Hi all,

When looking at changing my tv package via the app or online, I get the message ‘ you will be able to do this soon via the app, for now ring this number’.

Any idea when this will be available like it was with BT tv?

Should I dare ask when will ultraboost arrive….?

thanks

Rich

Hi Rich

Have you tried the Now TV app itself, or browse to Now?

Mine shows billed by EE, but gives me the option of adding Cinema and Boost. I assume they'd tell EE to increase the billing accordingly.

Why Ultaboost isn't available via the 4K EE TV Pro box I've no idea.

(i) The hardware can’t support it.

(ii) Even if it could, EETV has no mechanism for selling it to you.

But like all explanations, this just peels back one layer of the onion, and invites as many questions as at the layer before 😢

How does the TNT UHD work then?

I don’t think it will come to be honest, wish I didn’t sign up 6 months ago

@Richkc

The hardware supports some people’s UHD, just not Now’s.

When I had UltraBoost, I had to avoid the Now app on my YouView boxes as it didn’t just drop back to HD, it dropped right back to HD Ready (Now’s SD) because it didn’t know what to do with the UltraBoost setting 🤮

No wonder their offering sky stream now, I wonder if you can swap over mid contract like I was told by EE via messaging.

"But like all explanations, this just peels back one layer of the onion, and invites as many questions as at the layer before 😢"

That was just too tempting.

(i) The hardware can’t support it.

A 4K box supporting other 4K apps can't support another 4K app.

(ii) Even if it could, EETV has no mechanism for selling it to you.

But does have a mechanism for selling you a boosted HD Plan.

Wonderful.

On checking further Rich, I can see the option to add Now's HD Boost, and Cinema, at the bottom of Manage/TV & Sport, in the EE app.

"No wonder their offering sky stream now...."

Somebody here said it made sense. Sky had TV sussed, EE was a phone company.

I was already a NF/Now customer. I only went for the TV Pro box originally as I liked the YouView concept, wanted recording capability, and the monthly for the box with the services was less than I was paying them direct.

I am informed by EETV that Sky Stream is not an EETV offering, but rather an EE one here; so while you can have Sky Stream alongside EETV, you can’t have it instead, once you have signed up for EETV.

Good luck with that … it takes ages as they require you to fully re contract every time you want to adjust your package. You need to listen to all the Ts and Cs and you will need to sign a full set of contracts… tieing you in for a new 24 months every time.
