had calls from all these numbers today saying they’re from EE and offering a 40% discount promotion, when they asked how much my last bill was, and since they were all Indian voices, I hung up; assuming it was fraud. When I searched the numbers through my HIYA security app, they were all landlines apparently from cafes! I’ve blocked all the numbers, but there’s obviously a big scam doing the rounds! They must have hijacked some dormant landline numbers I’d think.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Thank you for this information. I just had a call telling me as a loyal customer of EE I was chosen for a 40% discount on my mobile bill as it was New Year. But she asked me what I pay on my mobile bill and I challenged her as to why she didn't know if she was from EE. She kept trying to get me to agree to a contract. But I was asking questions about who she was and what contract was she trying to sell me. I also don't like being pressured. She said the contract could be rolling or fixed and could be for sim only or also for any iPhone hand sets too, she could provide 40% off everything - which was a bit weird. She just kept saying "so can you confirm you want to go ahead" Finally, I asked how long the promotion was on for and if I could see it on the website or by calling 150 and then she just kind of gave up and said yes I could see it there and hung up. There was obviously nothing on the EE website about the promotion. I googled and found this message on the community - so I do think it was a scam and this scam is obviously doing the rounds again as it's January. The number I was called from was 07588797908.
I reported it using the Report a scam link above. Thanks again. hope this helps others too.

Hello EE Community Support Team and members,
I just joined the community today when I too started receiving calls offering 40% discount and realized they were scam calls and a google search brought me to this thread. I have already notified the scam numbers through the BT reporting link :https://www.bt.com/exp/help/contact-bt/form/scams. However, for anyone not aware, please do not entertain any calls from the following numbers:
07779015462, 07803586207, 02031908703, 07724242343, 02032680946, 07410598122, 01749200182, 07842098670, 07545792357, 07915260970.
I accidentally picked one of these calls and luckily, I did not have time to go through their procedures for updating to get the offer. However, they were relentlessly trying to call me without leaving a voice mail when I did not pick up these calls, and that was a red flag for me. They called me again today morning to which I picked up and said I was not interested in the offer to which they were asking me why I wasn't interested and trying to convince me how great the offer was and it is only a telephone offer for select EE customers etc.
Please be aware that this scam is still going on and be cautious. Do not pick calls from unknown numbers and if they genuinely want to talk to you, they will leave you a proper complete voicemail. Even if you receive a voicemail, ensure you are not clicking on a number to contact them back. ALWAY! Check the source of the call, if in doubt.
Have a safe spam free day!
Regards,

I have receiving calls from 01902, 0203 etc offering me discounts. Then accepted. It was too low to be believe but I thought let me give it a try then the next thing my account password was changed. And also was made to sign a contact online but the contract showed £93 to pay but the offer was £40. But I called EE and was told not to worry. After the first month the contract will be £40. Then comes to delivery the PIN number could not arrive and also when it arrived it was not accepted by DPD ???? This is currently happening as I am writing this message Then that’s how I came in this platform to notice that it’s a scum. My goodness. I will tell you the full numbers once I do my due diligence
