Move 4 sims from Bt to EE, rest of family has worked fine but my number in settings is showing new mobile number and I’ve now received message saying my old phone number will expire in 5 days - reinsert the sim to keep using this number with iMessage and FaceTime- have reinserted new sim and closed phone down multiple times - haven’t done anything different to rest of family who’s numbers ported fine

Hi @Karenjh

What happens when someone calls or texts your old BT number? Does it come through on your EE SIM?

Is your number correct under settings / Phone / My number?

@Karenjh  Turn off iMessage and FaceTime then restart the device.  Now check your number is setting>phone if it’s now correct you can enable iMessage and FaceTime.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thanks tried that and still shows new phone number ie not my original number the that should have porter - however when people ring / text my old number it comes through and the new number doesn’t connect - any ideas ?

Calls / messages come through on old number but new number is shown under settings

Hi,

I’ve been having the same issue for months. I changed from 3 to ee and kept my old number. Keep getting that same message, tried everything, from uninstalling it all to reinstalling all my settings and it still doesn’t work.

Did you fix yours?

@Jilliep   Have you tried a factory reset ?

That’s the only thing I haven’t done.  I tried a random mixture of things after this post, one being removing my telephone number from the FaceTime settings on my iPad and it worked. At least I think that’s what worked?!
The reinsert sim message to keep using iMessage and FaceTime did pop up again about ten minutes ago. So we’ll see. I’m guessing my fox wasn’t a permanent one.

I have been having the same issue and have lost a number of calls and messages from it. Especially difficult to spot when many WhatsApp and messenger services are still working. Have taken SIM card out several times but it works for a few weeks then reverts.
im thinking there may be something in the way the number has been ported across?

Hi @Bluebell53

If you go into your Settings and FaceTime and Messages, does the number show correct and ticked for both?

Leanne.
