PAC code and leaving ED

Liz43-
Visitor

I have tried to contact EE but the wait times are always excessive and after being on hold several times for at least 15 minutes I have given up.
I have read how to request a PAC code but do I have to speak to someone to tell them I want to leave the network or will they release me when the new network picks up the phone number?
TIA

When you port your no. away from EE using a PAC you do not need to inform EE of anything. Using a PAC will auto cancel your EE contract & in effect your new network will inform EE of it.

There are usually options to request a callback, but all the same.

Using a PAC serves two purposes - your number is ported across, and your existing contract is cancelled. Just make sure you've tested your prospective new network in the locations you frequent - coverage maps don't always tell the whole story.
