I have today placed the new SIM delivered this morning, to complete my switch from Three to EE> The PAC code had been given at the time on new SIM being sent.
I placed the new SIM in and turned phone on. But no signal at all, no EE symbol and no ability to call etc. I have turned phone on and off about 4 times now.
I ended up, in panic with no phone (I am a carer and need to be able to receive fall alarm calls) so I replace d the old Three SIM back in, but that no longer has any symbol or signal either. So I cannot call anyone for support or help.
Hoping someone can shed some light on what to do? Do I need to jump in the car and drive the 18 miles to the closest EE shop??
I am now without any phone number at all. In the past, I have experienced the old number only goes down at the point of porting? (Its an iphone 12 Max Pro, not that I think that will make any difference?)
thank you

@Miss_Yell The sim has to active and this can take up to 24 hours , it’s usually quicker though. Once the sim is activated you’ll have a temporary number on it until yours ports across again usually up to 24 hours. But with your 3 sim not working now it sounds like the port has already commenced. And it’s just the case of waiting for the sim to activate and your number might only take a few minutes to switch over as the port has started.

Thank you! So its totally normal for the SIM to show nothing at all? I am guessing the moment I put the EE SIM in, it triggered the porting, as within a matter of 5 minutes I tried replacing the old sim and it was down with no symbols etc either. At no time has the SIM requested a PIN, is that odd??
I have turned the phone on and off again just now, and still nothing yet! Wish I had known I would be cut off from the world and my parents emergency fall alarms! Its so frustrating not being able to talk to EE at all too!
Weirdly enough, when I go to the app, there is now no evidence of an order for a SIM!
Thank you so much for your reassurance 😊

Hi there @Miss_Yell
Thanks for coming to the community.
The EE SIM should have had signal when placed into the phone, with the temporary number until the number transferred.
Is the SIM still showing no signal? If so, could you try going into the device settings and manually searching for a network, does EE show available?
Leanne.
