Download failed, activation failed, EE website is down, isn't it about time you fixed eSIM? 🤦🏻♂️

The website is not down, nothing wrong with it.
Were you trying to do this via the app or the website itself?
I do not have the ESim, but if you are having trouble, you could always ring customer service and they should be able to help.
Do you actually have a physical SIM card? You would need that first in order to get an ESim.
You could try clearing your cache, and if you are using the app, have you made sure you have the latest one and if you are still having problems with it, try uninstalling and reinstalling it, otherwise you would have to ring customer service to reset your account.

@Philio EE do account maintenance late at night so it doesn’t affect the majority of customers. The vast majority of EE customers don’t have issues with transferring their number to the device eSim. So if you have an issue with this you need to call customer services so that issue can be logged and looked into.
Account maintenance could also be about eSim activation.
Just to add @Schockwave might have been able to login to their account at 11.39pm but you’ve now replied back at 2.53am. So not really in the same time space and you’re trying to say @Schockwave couldn’t at the time of that comment.

It had been like that since about 9pm last night. It's funny you say that, because every time I try to transfer an eSIM and it doesn't work, CS always say it's a nightmare and lots of people have problems with it.
