looking for a Esim on pay as you go

Hi All,

I have been passed about and been offered a Esim on pay as you go! is this possible.

I applied for a sim deal on pay monthly and got declined but was then promised that I can get a pay as you go SIM card and then call 150 to change this to a E Sim.

I went down to local EE shop and picked up a SIM card and call 150, apparently I was mislead on sales twice. came home spoke to the team on the phone this is something they don't offer for pay as you go!  There was only promise that it would be coming soon.

I have now wasted £15 and have two SIM cards but I don't want a second phone !

is there a way to change this new sim to a esim ?

@sjb958  And EE has every right to terminate the eSIM as that website is for international travellers to obtain an eSIM on their device when travelling.    The eSIM is sold via that website to use EEs network and it very clearly states that the network provider has its own terms and conditions.    You are not an international traveler while a resident in the UK and are within the UK.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Well then this service will go through the door I guess cause it is ridiculous in 2024.

This was Feb 2024.

Is your account still PAYG ? or did EE bait and switch you? I've been with  EE for 20 plus years  and I'd like to switch my PAYG SIM account to an eSIM on my US iphone and I might do the same as you did on my next UK visit. Although having an EE account frankly has very few advantages now the UK has left the EU and you have to pay to roam in the EU.

Lets roll it forward to 5th February 2025.... looked on line for esims found it on the ee site. explained purchase pay as you go wait for your sim to arrive, activate the physical sim then you can download you esim.

Discovered you cant after going to the effort of swapping sims, activating, getting my PAK code for my old number. Called customer service and they informed me you need to be on contract to obtain a esim and it doesnt work on pay as you go.

A nice waste of £15

So to be clear EE do not do Pay as You Go Sims No Matter what they say

@SQ1512   As you got a sim for the PAYG its not a waste.  You got what you ordered you just can not change it to the eSIM and that isn’t what you ordered.
