I'm trying to activate international roaming on my pay as you go SIM but having real difficulty adding the 'Travel' or 'Roaming' via 150 as I'm outside the network and currently in Belize.
I need to respond to text messages on my UK SIM/number but being prevented from doing this until roaming is set up. It's urgent I get this sorted. Any advice please. I can't call any of the numbers EE suggests and can't send texts from my UK mobile despite receiving texts from UK numbers. Help!

TRAVEL& ROAMING are only for contract users, not PAYG.
Outside the EU, you cannot use your usual UK allowances there but will need to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/roaming-costs/countries/belize > PAYG.
Had you already used your PAYG SIM to make a call or text in the UK?

Hi @Merryl70
Was the PAYG SIM activated in the UK.
Thanks

Roaming on PAYG is auto-enabled when the SIM is first used in the UK. Failure to do this will prevent a PAYG phone from getting coverage abroad, and this create an inability to call, text or use mobile data.
If you can receive text messages abroad, you have a mobile network connection and thus are roaming.

I'm receiving certain texts from the UK. And yes, my PAYG was activated in the UK .
I'm happy to do whatever I have to to get roaming so I can respond to texts!

Hello, so if I have roaming why am I unable to make calls to UK or respond
to UK texts?
Does manually swapping local networks make any difference to the symptoms?
Do you have sufficient credit for the call or text? These will all be chargeable, whereas receiving texts is free globally.

I have credit. I don't know how to manually switch networks though?
And not entirely sure how that'll work as I'm currently in central America ?

Hi @Merryl70.
What device are you using?
Just so I can provide you with some steps on how to manually select another network.
