Upgrading 30 day contract - what day does new one start?

Hello, I recently started a 30 day rolling contract on an Essentials Plus plan, which renews on the 24th of each month. I’m ok with this for now, but later in the year I’m hoping to upgrade to a Full Works plan as I’m going to quite a few countries in the Zone 1 roaming list (which it would include) and this would be from the start of October.

Do I need to give at least 30 days notice to move to this plan, or should I only upgrade just before I start the travelling? For example, if I upgraded on the 1st September, would the new plan start on the 24th September (once the current month contract finishes) or immediately on that day? Just to make sure I don’t pay more than what I need to, or worse upgrade too late for it to have any effect.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi @BillyHicks

Thanks for coming to the community.

Do you currently have a discounted SIM Only plan as part of an EE One contract for having broadband and mobile with us?

If you do, you should be able to call in to our billing guides and change the plan, which would take effect from your next renewal date on the 24th.

If you don't have EE One, and are moving to a Full Works SIM Only plan, it would be a new contract that would be started, and the plan would usually start the new plan immediately after the request is processed, which would often be within a day or two.
