Cancel pay as you go pack

Bananateez

I tried to get a pay as you go pack on my phone that wouldn't renew. I've done this previously in the app a few months ago with no issues. I done this as EE texted me saying my number would be deactivated if I didn't buy a pack or add on.

could only find "auto renew" packs on the website, so I went to the app. I tried looking at "add ons" in the app, it won't load.

I eventually called them after finding nothing on the website that wasn't a monthly pack, and I got a £10 pay as you go pack. That VERY SPECIFICALLY said, that it wasn't on a contract.

Only AFTER the purchase, they told me that it would renew after 30 days, automatically. Now I can't find where I opt out of that since their app is as broken as my brain after this ordeal.

Where can I cancel my pay as you go pack that isn't on a contract, that I got for my pay as you go SIM? I just want to pay, as I go... You know? I don't need this every month of the year. 😅

@Bananateez  It’s not a contract it’s PAYG.    If you don’t want PACKS why you using them. ?  You can have a traditional  PAYG where your credit pays for calls/text.   Just text STOP PACK to 150.       You don’t need to purchase a PACK to retain the number you just need to top up or make a chargeable action once every 3 months.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

I got a pack as many other providers offer contract free packages where you can come and go as you please (no auto renew lol). I assumed from the wording of the voice assistant that this was the case with this one, and I'm happy to hear that it actually is. But in saying that it's pretty bad they tell you it auto renews after you buy it when using the automated assistant phoning 150, and nowhere on app or the EE site does it say clearly how to opt out of it.

I could easily use this method about 3-4 months ago. Where I could simply buy a "£10 everything pack" and it wouldn't renew automatically, but it seems they changed things around a bit since then.

As for why I didn't buy an add on... I literally cannot. I looked on the website and app, across different devices. It just refuses to load the page (other pages work fine). It's a shame as it used to work great.

In any case, thanks for such a quick response. That worked perfectly. ☺️

@Bananateez  You can have it so it doesn’t automatically renew but packs only last 30 days so if you’re only topping up say every 3 months packs are not worth it for you.   If you ever need data you can use the EE app to purchase it.  Credit on account only pays for calls/texts you can not use it directly against data usage.

All EE packs auto renew when you have sufficient credit to buy them & have always been so even in the legacy Everything Pack days. The only ways to not have them auto renew is not to top-up sufficient or text STOP PACK to 150. With the latter you can use the SIM as normal PAYG at standard per-unit rates for calls & texts, but not data. For data you would need to buy a data add-from your credit. Text ADD DATA to 150 to see what you can get.

Hi, I'm a relatively new, customer. If I stop my pack before it can renew. Do I still keep the data I have left?

@ZyuranTyranno : When you stop a pack you are not stopping the current pack but stopping it renewing when it expires. So it will carry on until its expiry date.
