Which pack are you trying to purchase? You can text a code to 150 (see below) to purchase a pack if the app is not working for you.

Thank you Alex. Delighted at a rapid response. I am in Spain but fly to UK tomorrow. I did not want to turn my phone with the EE sim on until I reach UK as, from past bitter experience, EE seems to zap away my credit for receiving texts or data charges because I am not in UK. This also happened in Australia! EE left me with 25cents credit. EE would also probably charge the 2.50 daily charge for EU roaming. I don't need the EE phone/sim until I reach UK as I have a Spanish phone.
So, I was trying to do everything on my laptop. The top up was successful but it won't allow me to activate the 5 pound pack. Don't worry about the 'disappeared funds'. I'd just be happy to be able to activate the 5 pound pack.

Right, you won't be able to text 150 until you return to the UK. But as soon as you do, it should work right away.
