WiFi calling does not work for me, despite being enabled on my iPhone.
I live in an area where the moble signal is weak to non-existent - so this is incredibly frustrating when (faux)-2FA ID is required for many transactions.
[Contract is for SIM only.]
EE why is WiFi calling not enabled ?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hi @AlanD5
I'm sorry to hear that you're still having problems with this after getting a replacement SIM.
Were your calls working on WiFi calling at work? Or were those test calls on the mobile network?

Hi Chris
No the call was via the EE (almost wrote Orange 😊), network - more a test that I had a working phone (network) connection, after fitting the new SIM.
Having read your question, (now at work), thought I would give this a go though.
Not eniterly sure how to turn-off the network connection, (to only use WiFi), but in end chose the manual network selection, then chose another provider (Vodafone in this case), which effectively disabled it. Having done this I tried a test call, and the result this time was. …
No - still not working.
So to my mind, probably not the (home) router.
Then tried another WiFi connection - just to be sure, same result. So pointing back to the phone / SIM or something unique to (my ?) network account.
Other ideas anyone ?

Could you please re-connect to the EE network and pop your phone into 'Airplane Mode', @AlanD5? That's a bit of a better test, rather than disconnecting from the network completely.
Just as a test. That way we can be sure you're having the same problem with more than one WiFi.

OK, doing that then trying to call, pops-up a box saying
No Network Connection - with option to
Connect to a WiFi network - which I selected
Takes me to a box that shows WiFi turned off - turn it on from that option. Then I can see WiFi icon at top of screen.
So try a test call again - this time the box No Network Connection box pops-up just offering Cancel or Disable Airplane Mode options.
Tried then turning Off then On the WiFi Calling option (in Mobile Data) - makes no difference - same message received.

Thanks for trying that, @AlanD5
I've sent you a private message to get some information from you.
Please have a look and get back to me.
Thanks

OK, finally, issue solved (yesterday afternoon). 😀
I would like to thank in particular, Christopher_G, Martin_Sm and Danni # for all their help in resolving this.
[# I hope I spelt your name correctly Danni. 😊]
And for what it's worth, I have just tested this at home to confirm it's operational in WiFi calling mode, (ironically right now I can just get a weak phone signal on the EE network - but for test purposes I used the manual network selection and selected another provider to effectively turn off mobile (cellular) on my iPhone for the purposes of the test).
This time I could make test calls (confirming it is now indeed routing over WiFi), before re-enabling EE and Auto Network selection afterwards.
So what was the issue then ?
Turns out, we were all sort of on the right track, almost from my opening comments & the post title. Basically the calling plan I was on, did not support WiFi calling.
Having given Christopher more details (by PM), he handed this over to his colleague Martin, to look into. Martin called me later on my work landline, to explain the issue was the plan I was on (as an ex-Orange plan) did not support WiFi calling. Then he spoke to his colleague Danni in contracts to work out the best (proper) EE plan to switch me over to get WiFi Calling but keeping the plan costs similar 'ish. Danni then took me through the plan change initiated by a SMS message to switch over to the new contract - all on the same (landline call) initiated by Martin. Great service everyone, thanks again.
For the benefit of anyone else, who may have experienced similar issues, my iPhone is now showing "EE WiFiCall" on the top LHS of the screen, as the network provider.
Thanks again all - issue resolved.

I'm very grateful that I stumbled across this thread, I've been trying to resolve the same issue for at least two years. My handset was indicating that wifi calling was enabled but it simply wouldn't work, so I was relying on a very poor 4G signal that was constantly dropping out, not great for business use. When I referred our company comms provider to this thread, they contacted EE and found that 'WIFI calling had been turned off at the network level'.
Thanks for raising this thread, I hope others also find it helpful.
